Equity compensationBeta

What this solves

If part of your pay is stock — RSUs, ESOW, or a performance LTIP grant — this tracks what you’ve been granted, when it vests, and what’s released versus still locked. Unvested shares aren’t yours if you leave, so net worth excludes them until they vest.

In beta: real and fully wired — a permanent Investments sub-tab, not a flag or placeholder — but newer and less battle-tested than the ledger or budgeting.

Add a grant and track vesting

  1. Open Investments → Equity Compensation, add a grant: units, price per unit, type (RSU, ESOW, or performance LTIP), and a tax event — Tax at vest (the usual Singapore/US/ Germany-style plan) or Tax deferred (Vietnam and similar). This sets when the taxable moment falls, not the jurisdiction itself — your actual rates come from the tax residency country set under Tax.
  2. The vesting schedule generates automatically; check Upcoming vests.
  3. When a vest happens, record the vest — moves units from locked to vested, creates the position.
  4. If your plan separates vesting from release, use record release; pending releases show in their own panel.
  5. Undo a vest if recorded in error.

What Lucius can do here

  • Create, list, or update a grant (schedule, terms).
  • Record a vest or release, undo a vest, or cancel a grant.
  • Report on upcoming vests and pending releases; pull an equity tax report.

Things that trip people up

  • Unvested equity is excluded from net worth on purpose — you’d forfeit it if you left. It shows separately as unvested value.
  • A vest and a release can be the same event or two, depending on your plan — don’t assume a vest means shares are released.
  • A vest recorded before delivery-tracking existed shows as “Not released,” not a guessed date — the app used to infer a release date from the vest date for older history; it no longer does, so record the real release date yourself if the shares already arrived.
  • Tax treatment on vest/release is jurisdiction-dependent, configured under Tax — not decided automatically.
